The International Chapel of Vienna (ICV) is a Bible-preaching, elder-led, evangelical church family for people from around the world gathered here in the city of Vienna.
As an international church in the incredibly diverse city of Vienna, it’s easy to see that ICV is a church that celebrates the incredible diversity of God’s kingdom with members from around the globe. Together, we have adopted English as our primary language of worship and teaching although during fellowship time it’s not uncommon to hear a variety of languages represented – especially German.
As a church we believe and proclaim salvation by faith through Jesus Christ, and our desire is to bring glory to God through knowing, loving and serving Him and by growing in our relationships with one another.
The mission of the Chapel is to grow in our relationship with God (worship) and one another (fellowship) as we practice and proclaim what it means to follow Jesus (discipleship) and share the Good News of the Gospel (evangelism) wherever God has us.
The Bible describes the church as being the “body of Christ” (1 Cor. 12:27; Eph. 4:12). As such, the church is much more than simply an organization – it is a gathering of people, under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, for the building up of believers (1 Cor. 14:12), for declaring the truth of the gospel to unbelievers (2 Peter 3:9), and for the blessing of the world (Gen. 26:4).
Our aim and intention is to focus on the gospel of Jesus Christ and to “major in the majors” by giving priority to the clear teaching of Scripture regarding matters such as the triune nature of God, the sinful state of man, God’s plan for salvation, the Church, and the authority of Scripture.
We recognize that one of the unique missions God has given us is the opportunity to minister in such an amazing, international city to many people who, for many different reasons, find themselves here for a limited number of months or years.
Because of our desire to be a church that remains faithful to the Word of God and to the mission He has given us here in Vienna, we have adopted the following Doctrinal Statement and Articles of Faith.
